Imke Folkerts Prize for Fine Arts

The Imke Folkerts Prize for Fine Arts is an art prize, which is open to the categories of painting, drawing, printmaking, photography and sculpture. The divisions installations, video art and performances are excluded. Applicants from around the world can compete with each a work that must be salable and some size restrictions. The prize is awarded every two years in the East Frisian fishing village Greetsiel as part of each summer since 1970 held Greetsieler week. He is endowed with 10,000 euros.

The jury consists of changing representatives of museums, galleries, artists and collectors. You decide in an online pre-trial on a short list of works that are requested in the original and taken in an exhibition. The jury decides the / the winners using the originals. You can share the prize at its discretion, but to be achieved mainly in honor of a young artist do up to their thirtieth year.

The prize is donated by David F. Folkerts - Landau, who named it after his grandmother.

The fifth award of the Art Prize in 2011, nationwide more than 250 participating artists.
