Impler

Impler is the name of an old southern German patrician family whose members in Munich included in particular among the wealthiest families in the late Middle Ages. After Impler family a main road in the Sendling district is named in Munich.

The Impler family is now the home mainly in the area Au near Bad Feilnbach.

Well-known members of the family

  • Johann " Hans " Impler († 1385 ) was a cloth merchant and alderman. From 1364 to 1374 he was a member of the outer city council and in 1371 the inner city council. He was the citizen uprising against the Dukes Stephen III. the Kneissl and Friedrich tortured and beheaded by the rebels, who had obviously made him responsible unfairly for the high tax burden. This event was in the history of Munich under the name " Impleraufstand " one.
