In an implosive the vocal folds vibrate more during the closure. During the closure of the larynx is lowered within the vocal folds, thus increasing the space between the vocal folds and oral closure. Does this happen lowering very quickly, so the pressure in the cavity may even fall below that of the external pressure, thereby simultaneously the pressure gradient to the lungs towards increased. When the pressure in the cavity remains below the external pressure, it is used in a lock solution from the outside to an inflow of air into the cavity ( implosion ).
