Imre Erőss

Imre Alfréd Erőss (* July 7, 1909 in Prisian (Hungarian Perestyén ), County Krassó - Szörény, Austria - Hungary, † July 31, 1950 in Cluj ( Kolozsvár German ), Romania ) was between 1949-1950 suffragan diocese de Alba Iulia.

Life

Imre Eröss, of Hungarian descent, visited the Piaristengymnasium in Timişoara, ( German Timisoara, Timisoara, Timisoara, Hungarian Temesvár ), and wanted to become a Jesuit, what he said under his father; he began studying in Târgu Secuiesc (Hungarian Kézdivásárhely, German Székely Neumarkt ). The study of theology, he began in 1929 in Alba Iulia and set it later on to Rome. On October 27, 1935 he was ordained a priest. First, hospital chaplain, he was from 1938 to 1941 prefect at the seminary in Alba Iulia, from 1944 professor of dogmatic theology in Cluj.

On February 2, 1949 Eröss was ordained in the chapel of the Nunciature in Bucharest by Gerald Patrick O'Hara, the ex officio proceedings of the Apostolic Nunciature in Romania bishop. Co-consecrators were Áron Márton, bishop of Alba Iulia, and Ioan Ploscaru, the auxiliary bishop of Lugoj.

On August 2, 1950 Bishop Imre Alfréd Erőss died in a hospital in Cluj and was buried at the cemetery in Turda. He published several theological and religious education journals.
