Mtarfa ( or L- Imtarfa ) is a small village near the cities of Rabat and Mdina in the center of Malta.

Mtarfa is a modern settlement today. However, there are Roman writings that refer to a temple of Proserpina. In 1890 barracks built for the British Army. During the First World War they built the Royal Navy Hospital Mtarfa, a naval hospital. Today it is a secondary school which is named after Sir Temi Zammit.
