In Our Time (short story collection)

In our time ( In Our Time) is a collection of short stories by the American writer Ernest Hemingway, published in 1925 in the U.S. and thus was his first publication in the States. The book stands out as well as later works by the short and concise writing style of the author. In addition, stories are like three-day storm first examples of Hemingway's iceberg theory.

Hemingway presents the reader with the character Nick Adams, who has taken clear autobiographical elements from the author. These stories tell like in a novel of the growth of the protagonist in several episodes. The boy who is becoming a man in the course of the stories also appeared in Hemingway's short story collection Men without women, and after his death more stories about Nick Adams was released from his estate.

Some of the works in the band are still among Hemingway's best-known short stories, including On the Quai at Smyrna, Indian camp, The Doctor and his wife, The End of Something, three-day storm, The Fighter and the cat in the rain. Overall, the book contains fifteen short stories.
