Inca Kola

Inca Kola is a cola brand from Peru, which was invented in 1910 by British immigrants John Lindley in Rímac / Lima. A major component of the drink comes from the called lemon verbena, locally Hierba Luisa. The sweet taste reminds some consumers of chewing gum. From 1935, the drink was offered on trade.

It is one of the few sodas that in some countries a larger market share than Coca -Cola. 1999 Coca-Cola bought 50 % of shares of its rivals. The Lindley Corporation, owner of the brand, Coca -Cola decanted for the Peruvian market, but the Peruvians prefer Inca Kola. 1999 Coca-Cola acquired the naming rights to Inca Kola outside of Peru. In Peru, they are further supported by the Lindley Corporation.

Inca Kola is yellowish - golden and is sold in a can of the same color with an Inca motif. The drink is also available in glass or plastic bottles of various sizes.
