Indian Institute of Science

The Indian Institute of Science ( IISc ) in Bangalore is an Indian elite research institution primarily for graduate researchers.

It offers over 2000 scientists in 48 Departments opportunities for postdoctoral stays and for theses - from air and space technology on molecular biophysics to management. The IISc has from all academic institutions in India, most publications and was listed by the World ranking of all universities, the Institute SJTU rises in the PRC in 2004 as a best university of India.

It was founded IISc to British colonial times at the suggestion of the Indian industrialist Jamshedji Tata with advice and support from the British Nobel Laureate Prof. William Ramsay; 1909, took up the work, the first Indian Director was the Nobel Laureate Sir CV Raman.
