The Indiana State University (also called ISU ) is a public university in Terre Haute in the U.S. state of Indiana. It was founded in 1865 as Indiana State Normal School. Currently here are enrolled 10,534 students.
History
The college was founded in 1865 by the Indiana General Assembly as the Indiana State Normal School. She served as a normal school training for teachers of primary schools and high school. The university awarded its first bachelor's degree in 1908 and 1928, the first master. 1929, the institution in Indiana State Teachers College, and in 1961, due to the expansion of education, Indiana State College was renamed. The last name was changed in 1965 to the present name as Indiana State University
Sports
The sports teams of the ISU are the Sycamores. The university is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. The football team plays in the Gateway Football Conference.
