Indianapolis City-County Building

The City- County Building is a skyscraper in Indianapolis. The 113.46 -meter-high steel and glass structure extends over 28 floors. The building is the headquarters of Unigov how the 1970 folded administration of the City of Indianapolis and Marion County is called.

The City- County Building is located in downtown Indianapolis at 200 East Washington Street. The main entrance is oriented to the south, in front is a place with planted borders, where there was the courthouse of Marion County to the completion of the City - County Building. To the north of the building is the Indianapolis City Market.

The building was designed by the architecture firm based in Indianapolis Wright, Porteous & Lowe / Bonar and Lennox, Matthews, Simmons & Ford, Inc.. The foundation stone was laid on 21 December 1960 for the first time has been the City - County Building in January of 1962. The earlier further south lying in three blocks Hall resident city government moved into the City - County Building to, as the Marion County Court, the was demolished afterwards.
