Indie Built

Indie Built, Inc. was an American game development studio for computer games headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company in 1983 by Bruce Carver was founded as Access Software.

History

Among the best known products include the Adventure games around the character Tex Murphy. From golf Leaderboard Golf copies were sold over a million. From 1990, followed by the Golf game series links, appeared from 1992, a part under the title Microsoft Gulf.

1999 Access Software was acquired by Microsoft, part of Microsoft Game Studios and renamed " Salt Lake Games Studio "; 2003, he was again renamed " Indie Games", although this name was later used rarely. 2004 was finally the company, because of inefficiency, are sold to Take 2 Interactive. There it was under the new name " Indie Built " in January 2005, part of the 2K Sports label under which the sports games Amped 3 and Top Spin 2 was released for the Xbox 360.

On 28 April 2006, the studio unexpectedly to the public, closed.
