Indifferentism

Indifference describes a permanent indifferent attitude towards ruling. The indifferentist meets most of lack of interest and no decision leaves open the question. A distinction he is the opportunist who actually did not decide, but not because of lack of interest, but because he hopes it for personal gain.

One distinguishes between political, religious, philosophical and moral indifferentists.

The indifference in the religious sphere is by Pope Gregory XVI. described as follows:

" Pravam opinionem illam, quae ex omni parte improborum fraude percrebuit, qualibet fidei professione aeternam posse animae salutem comparari, si mores ad recti honestique normam exigantur. "

"Those wrong, everywhere spread through the deception of the bad guys think you could earn eternal salvation with any creed, if you aligned the way of life on the standard of what is right and moral good. "

And in the encyclical Mirari vos strongly condemned.

The indifference is its increase in total indifference, its agent, is nothing of interest, since the interest is no longer relevant for them.
