Inés Ayala

Inés Ayala Sender ( born March 28, 1957 in Zaragoza ) is a Spanish university teacher and politician of the socialist party PSOE. She is a member of the European Parliament.

Academic career

Inés Ayala studied from 1975 to 1982 Hispanic Studies and English at the University of Zaragoza, where until 1990 was also active as a lecturer in Spanish Literature from 1980. From 1994 to 1995 she also studied in Zaragoza Law, 1995 to 1997, she completed a postgraduate studies in sustainable development at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. 2002-2004 finally went on to study Spanish as a foreign language at the University of Alcalá.

Political career

After its accession to the PSOE Ayala was 1984-1985 board member of the Regional Council of the party in Aragon, where she was responsible for women's issues. From 1989 to 1990, she coordinated the leadership of the PSOE - UGT close in Asturias, after which it was until 1994 in spain wide UGT - line consultant for social work. From 1990 to 1995 she was chairman of the working group of the Spanish Economic and Social Committee, which prepared a White Paper on the Spanish industry.

She also worked from 1990 to 1994 the European Economic and Social Committee as experts in the fight against social exclusion. 1995-1997 she was expert in the Directorate General Environment of the European Commission, then to 2004, political advisor to the Group of the Party of European Socialists (PES ) in various committees and delegations from the European Parliament.

In the European elections of 2004 and 2009, Ayala was even elected as a parliamentarian. It belongs to the Socialist Group S & D and is a member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism and the Committee on Budgetary Control. 2004-2009 she was a member of the Committee on Petitions. Since 2009, Ayala member of the Committee on Budgetary Control and the Committee on Transport and Tourism and the Delegation for relations with the countries of Central America and in the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean
