Infanta Benedita of Portugal

Maria Francisca of Portugal Benedita, full name Maria Francisca Benedita Ana Isabel Antónia Lourença Inácia Teresa Gertrudes Rita Joana Rosa Bragança (25th July 1746 in Lisbon *, † August 18, 1829 same place ) was a Infanta of Portugal and Brazil, and Princess of Beira.

Life

Maria Francisca was the youngest daughter of King Joseph I of Portugal (1714-1777) and his wife the Infanta Maria Anna Victoria of Spain (1718-1781), eldest daughter of the Spanish King Philip V and his second wife Princess Elisabetta Farnese of Parma. Your paternal grandparents were King John V of Portugal and Archduchess Maria Anna of Austria.

On February 7, 1777 married Infanta Maria Francisca in Lisbon her nephew Infante José Francisco de Bragança, Prince of Beira ( 1761-1788 ), eldest son of her sister Mary, who was also the son of her uncle, her cousin. Maria Francisca Benedita accompanied the royal family to Brazil and returned together with her in 1821. She died in 1829 in Lisbon and was buried in the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora.
