Infanta Luisa Fernanda, Duchess of Montpensier

Maria Luisa Fernanda of Spain (French Louise Ferdinande ) ( born January 30, 1832 in Madrid, † February 2nd 1897 in Seville) was an Infanta of Spain and by marriage Duchess of Montpensier.

Origin

Luisa Fernanda was the youngest daughter of King Ferdinand VII of Spain (1784-1833) and his fourth wife Maria Christina, second daughter of King Francis I of the Two Sicilies and his second wife Maria Isabella of Spain. Your paternal grandparents were King Charles IV of Spain and his wife Mary Louise of Bourbon -Parma.

Marriage and descendants

On October 10, 1846 Luisa Fernanda married in Madrid Antoine d' Orléans, duc de Montpensier ( 1824-1890 ), the youngest son of the Duke of Orléans, later King Louis Philippe I, also called Citizen King, and his wife Princess Maria Amalia of Naples and Sicily. Later life

After the February Revolution of 1848, the couple d'Orléans went to England, then to Spain, where they resided later in Seville. 1859 her husband was appointed captain-general of the Spanish army and Infante of Spain.
