Infanta Maria Anna of Portugal (1843–1884)

Anna Maria Fernanda Leopoldina Micaela Rafaela Gabriela Carlota Antónia Júlia Vitória Praxedes Francisca de Assis Gonzaga ( born July 21, 1843 in Lisbon, Portugal, † February 5, 1884 in Dresden) was a Princess of Braganza and Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and Infanta of Portugal.

Life

Maria Anna was the daughter of Prince Ferdinand of Saxe- Coburg -Saalfeld and Queen Maria II of Portugal.

On May 11, 1859 married Infanta Maria Anna Lisbon would later become King George I of Saxony, son of King John I of Saxony and Princess Amalie Auguste of Bavaria. The marriage produced eight children were born:

Maria Anna died on 5 February of 1884 with 40 years. She is interred in the Hofkirche in Dresden.

The Dresden Marienallee is named after her.
