Infanta Maria Antonia of Portugal
Maria Antonia Adelaide of Portugal (Portuguese Dona Maria Antónia Adelaide Camila Carolina Eulalia Leopoldina Sofia Francisca de Assis e Inês de Paula Micaela Gabriela Rafaela Gonzaga Gregoria Bernardina Benedita Andreia de Bragança ) ( born November 28, 1862 in Bronnbach on the Tauber, † May 14 1959 in Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg ) was a Infanta of Portugal from the House of Braganza.
Life
Maria Antonia was the youngest daughter of King Michael I of Portugal and his wife Princess Adelaide of Löwenstein -Wertheim -Rosenberg.
They married on October 15, 1884 on Castle Fischhorn near Zell am See the Duke Robert I of Parma from the House of Bourbon -Parma, son of Duke Charles III. Parma and Louise Marie Thérèse d' Artois, royal princess of France.
On May 14, 1959 Maria Antonia died at 96 years on Castle Hill, the residence of her daughter Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg. Your final resting place she found in the Castle Church in Puchheim Puchheim (Upper Austria). 1982 visited her daughter Zita, the last empress of Europe, at the age of 90 years, the tomb after decades of exile.
Three of her daughters - Adelheid, Frank and Maria Antonia - were nuns, with Adelaide in 1907 as a Benedictine nun in the monastery of St. Cäcile, entered in the English Isle of Wight, where her widowed grandmother Adelaide of Löwenstein -Wertheim -Rosenberg served as prioress.
