The river Ing ( Thai: แม่น้ำ อิง, Maenam Ing ) is a tributary of the Mekong River in northern Thailand.

It rises in the Phi Pan Nam Mountains and flows in Phayao Phayao by the lake. The Ing is about 300 km long and forms a braided river that can flow in different river beds depending on the season. During the rainy season, which extends from May to October of Ing leads a lot of water and many species of fish from the Mekong to spawn. For this purpose, the near and often flooded rain forests are excellent. With the onset of the dry season the fish are returning to the Mekong. This way of life has also influenced the people at the Ing, operate the rain fishing. They use hundreds of small ponds in which they attract and catch the fish.
