Ingeborg Sjöqvist

Ingeborg Maria Sjöqvist, married Sjöqvist - Inger, nicknamed Kickan ( born April 19, 1912 in Kalmar ) is a former Swedish Water Diving. She is the sister of Lala Sjöqvist, who was also a successful water jumper.

Life

Sjöqvist a member of the swimming club Kalmar SS. In the Summer Olympics 1932 in Los Angeles, she took in the tower jump competition in fourth place behind the three medalists from the U.S.. She was the only woman among the Swedish Olympic athletes. Four years later, she placed ninth at the Games in Berlin in the same discipline. Your greatest achievements came at the European swimming championships: Both 1931 and 1934 she won the silver medal from the 10 - m tower.

Later she worked as an elementary school teacher and club secretary. Since 1939 she is married to Lennart Feininger, with whom she has three children. The couple now lives in Rydebäck in the municipality of Helsingborg.
