Ingvild Flugstad Østberg

Ingvild Flugstad Østberg ( born November 9, 1990 in Gjøvik ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. She is eight Junior World Champion.

Career

Østberg launched in January 2007 in races of Scandinavia Cup in Sjusjøn the first time in international competitions. While they finished only 58th in the classical technique in their first race for ten kilometers, she could place two days later at five km freestyle race in sixth place. In March of the same year she took part in two international FIS race in Hovden, where she was again able to achieve the better result in free technique. After they finished in tenth place in December 2007 at a FIS race in Gaalaa, a sprint in a classic style, she stood in the Norwegian squad for the Junior World Championship 2008 in the Italian Mals. After they had there still ranks third in qualifying for the sprint competition on February 23, it was only eleventh in the competition. Instead, they took during February 2010 participated in several races of Scandinavia Cup, where she was again successful and has won several races. This ultimately brought her the victory in the overall standings of the Cup. In March she took part in the remaining World Cup races of the season, however, they at several races missed scoring points. End of the season they again successfully participated in several junior race.

Østberg ended the following season 2010/11 Tour de Ski 2010/2011 on a good 14th. They successfully launched and a little later at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in the Estonian junior Otepaeae. There she won the gold medal in the 15 km pursuit race. In the season 2011/12 they started with the season as runner-up with a good podium in Sjusjøen. A little later missed Østberg a single podium finish in Rogla in fourth just barely. At the Tour de Ski 2011/2012 they also launched successfully and finished at the end of the 15th place in the Tour standings. In the following season started the Norwegian successful again.
