Iniesta, Cuenca

Iniesta is a municipality ( municipio ) in the province of Cuenca of Castile -La Mancha Autonomous Community in Spain. It is the capital of the judicial district in the southeast of the province.

The town was the seat of a feudal system, the fortress in the town was an important bulwark in the Castilian Reconquista.

The municipality borders the municipalities of Castillejo de Iniesta and Graja de Iniesta to the north, Villalpardo, Villarta and El Herrumblar the east, Villamalea, Ledaña and Casas de Juan Fernández in the south and to the west by Villanueva de la Jara.

Iniesta has an exit to the Autovia A-3 from Madrid to Valencia.
