Iñigo Pírfano

Iñigo Pírfano (* 1973 in Bilbao, Spain ) is a Spanish conductor.

Study

Pírfano learned solfeggio, piano and harmony, while he completed his studies in philosophy, which he finished at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. In 1997 he entered the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Mozarteum in Salzburg, where he orchestral, choral and opera conducting with Karl Kamper, coaching at Wolfgang Niessner and studied piano with Karl Wagner. There he earned his degree in music management. He furthered his studies with Sir Colin Davis in Dresden and Karl -Heinz Bloemeke and Kurt Masur in Detmold.

Conductor

In June 1998, he conducted the summer concert at the Mozarteum Frohnburg Castle, on which he interpreted not only works by Stravinsky and de Falla, but also works by young composers of the seminar premiered new music for this school.

His work as an orchestra conductor led him both by Austria (Salzburg and Vienna) and Germany as well as Spain (Madrid, San Sebastian, Bilbao and Valencia ), where he held various orchestras and ensembles such as the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, the Euskadi Symphoniorchester, the Szczecin Philharmonic, the Salzburg Frohnburg ensemble, the Dresden University Orchestra " Carl Maria von Weber", the orchestra of the German competition ' Youth Music ', the Orquestra Filharmonica de la Universitat de Valencia and the Orquesta Académica de Madrid has conducted.

His repertoire includes symphonic music, choral and opera, from baroque to contemporary music.

In 2011 he published the zarzuela ' Pan y Toros ' (bread and bulls ) by Francisco Asenjo Barbieri.

Composer

In 1998 he was commissioned as a composer of the soundtrack for the feature film " El Sudor de los Ruiseñores " to compose, orchestrate and conduct. In 2004 he was commissioned, the official music for the 400th anniversary of ' Don Quixote de la Mancha in 2005 ' to compose.
