Inírida (formerly Puerto Inírida ) is the capital of the Colombian departments Guainía. The city has 17 866 inhabitants ( as of 2005), making it the largest settlement of the province. The city was founded in 1963 and has since 1974 city law. Puerto Inírida is located in the basin of the upper Orinoco River in the Amazon basin.

Inírida serves as a center for regional products and raw materials. Are produced in addition to meat products, especially tropical hardwoods, which are obtained by over-exploitation.
