Injaz

Injaz (Arabic إنجاز Indschāz, DMG ʾ Inǧāz 'success' ) is the first successfully cloned camel.

According to media reports Injaz was born on April 8, 2009 in Dubai. Researchers at the Camel Reproduction Centre in Nakhali (Dubai ) have taken an adult, in 2005 slaughtered mare ovarian cells and fused with oocytes from which the nucleus has previously been removed. After the birth of Injaz, the DNA was examined in the genetics laboratory at the Dubai Central Veterinary Research Laboratory to confirm that Injaz is actually a clone of the original camel.
