Insch

Insch (Gaelic An Innis ) is a village in the Scottish unitary authority Aberdeenshire. It is about 16 km southeast of Huntly (Scotland ) and 39 km north- west of Aberdeen located. In 2001 recorded Insch 1523 inhabitants.

With Bennachie Insch was from 1822 to 1915 Location of a whiskey distillery.

Traffic

The A96, which connects Aberdeen with Inverness runs, approximately 5 km east of Insch and includes the village on to the long distance network. Insch has a railway station, the First ScotRail operates and is operated by the Aberdeen to Inverness Line. Historically, the railway station was situated on the main line of the Great North of Scotland Railway.
