Intercrosse

Intercrosse, a ball game, is a team sport. This trend sport is seen as a further variation of the sport lacrosse. Unlike Lacrosse Intercrosse is played without physical contact and mixed.

History

Since the 80s, Intercrosse developed into an independent sport. Already in the late 70s, the so-called Softlacrosse was used with soft and flexible ball club head as a school sport in the United States. Intercrosse gained greater popularity as the game can be played as indoor sports throughout the year and between men and women. Then in 1985 the Inter- Crosse 's world governing body ( FIIC ) was founded in Paris. Intercrosse has won it the Coubertin Fairness Award Unesco. Worldwide Intercrosse is played in about 40 countries, in Switzerland, for example Intercrosse is played in over 500 schools.

Game rules

In Intercrosse the ball must be conveyed by means of a racket in the opponent's goal. Each player has a bat ( stick), at the end a kind of basket ( Head ) is attached. Use this basket a tennis ball large soft plastic ball is thrown and caught ( catch-wrestling ). Each team has four field players and a goalkeeper. Switzerland

The Swiss lacrosse and Inter Cross Ever band was founded in 1995. Today Intercrosse will be played in Switzerland in three locations of four teams, with more teams are under construction. In Rickenbach the Green Buzzards and the Rookys in Herzogenbuchsee the Hurricanes and in Basel play the Aquillas. Since 2011, the Swiss Games are held once a year.

Germany

In Germany there is since 2009 an established league, which consists of five teams: YMCA Bad Marienberg, YMCA Brackwede, eating Eagles, ASC Ratingen West Bumble Bees, LAPanthers. In addition to the league will be distributed throughout the year many tournaments organized, which contribute significantly to gaming operations in Germany. Since 2010, there is again the Intercrosse Association Germany (IVD ), which was reconstituted after a few years.

Austria

In Austria there is since 2010 an own Intercrosse division in Austrian Lacrosse Association. This has to imagine the task Intercrosse to schools and to offer support to the implementation in physical education. On November 4, 2011 Vienna Ewoks Intercrosse was founded as the first Intercrosse Club in Austria.

Europe

In the rest of Europe Intercrosse is more widespread. There, in addition to league operations and international tournaments.
