INTERIM-Theater

Construction period? Church History?

The INTERIM theater is a building event for theater, cabaret and concerts in Munich's Laim.

History

Originally the building housed the Protestant Church Interim, which was acquired by the city of Munich to broaden the adjacent Agnes - Bernauer -Strasse after their demolition. For temporary use until the demolition of the building was converted into a table tennis hall. Since the plans for road widening were abandoned, came on considerations other uses.

The former church was, although listed, almost fit for demolition since no maintenance measures were carried out because of the permanent threat of demolition. 1989 was opened by the club Bürgertreff Laim the INTERIM as a cultural and event center and very well received in the wake of the population. The name was chosen because of the original church name. Since 1998, the building was renovated by grants from the city gradually.
