Interleague play

Inter League games referred to in the American professional baseball operation games between the two major leagues - American and National League - during the regular season.

These games are baseball only since 1997 part of the game plan in the major leagues. Up to this time, the annual MLB All-Star Game were ( a game between two league representative teams ) and the World Series the only official occasion for games between the leagues.

The designated hitter rule is like this in the World Series in American League stadiums for both teams for use in National League stadiums, however, for both teams not.

The Japanese professional baseball the Inter League Series was (Japanese交流 戦, kōryūsen ) introduced in 2005. It consisted of initially 36, since 2007, 24 games between the teams in the Central League and the Pacific League and lasts from mid-May to mid-June. The DH rule is applied as in the MLB according to the league affiliation of the host. With the exception of 2009, each of the teams in the Pacific League from 2005 to 2011 were successful in the Inter League games than the teams in the Central League.

In the Caribbean, between the winter leagues from Puerto Rico ( PRBL ) and the Dominican Republic ( LIDOM ), the series Inter League discharged.
