International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions ( IAAPA ) is an umbrella organization established in 1918, especially the U.S. theme park operators based in Alexandria ( Virginia).

Due to the economic impact of the Second World War, many parks have been neglected or even closed, thus the number of visitors declined. Thus the members of the NAAPB 1950 agreed then to a code of conduct that must be met by the members with standards.

These standards include, among others:

  • Clean, safe and healthy outdoor recreation
  • Fairness to the members, employees, owners and visitors against
  • Fairness and friendship between the manufacturers of amusement equipment
  • And the recognition of the industry through the American Society

In the mid-1950s, after also of the baby boom in the United States began, the NAAPB got with Walt Disney an important driver for the industry. Imagination and the design of entirely new worlds with Disney kept moving into the amusement park industry.

After the federation was now in the U.S. a fixed size, the Association decided in 1961 to expand beyond the United States. One reason for this was the increase of rides from European production in the U.S. market. At the same time, the operator of the pools and beaches withdrew from the federation, the name was changed to " International Association of Amusement Parks ( IAAP ) ". The current name was established in 1971 IAAPA to integrate entertainment and entertainment deals beyond the park into the dressing.

Measuring

Organised by the Association annual international trade fair is IAAPA Attractions Expo, or for short IAAPA. Furthermore, the association organizes related to the Europe trade fair Euro Attractions Show and the Asian Attractions Expo for the Asian market.

Are represented at the fair, manufacturers of roller coasters, rides, simulators and a provider of lighting and sound equipment, competitions, decorations and much more. While the European EAS Mass changes location every year, IAAPA is as fair usually held in Orlando ( Florida).

Every two years, the company called Applause Award, a prestigious award for amusement parks.
