International Association of Art Critics

The Association Internationale des Critiques d'Art ( AICA ), International Association of Art Critics, based in Paris was established in 1948 /49 and 1951 recognized by Unesco as a non-governmental organization. Its members include national sections with more than 4200 members in 64 countries.

Purpose of the association is to promote the influence of art criticism to protect the professional interests of colleagues and facilitate and improve information and international exchanges in the field of visual arts.

The German section of AICA was founded in 1951. Currently (February 2011) are 199 art critic member of the German section. Your seat has the AICA Germany in Berlin. President is the art critic and exhibition curator Marie Luise Syring.
