International Federation for Choral Music

The International Federation for Choral Music ( IFCM, German International Federation for Choral Music ) is an international association that was founded in 1982 to facilitate communication and exchange between choral musicians worldwide.

IFCM has more than 2,000 members from all continents, including individuals, choirs, organizations or companies. A majority of all choristers are world through membership in one of the IFCM affiliated choir or other organization affiliated member of the IFCM. In International Music Council of UNESCO IFCM is the official representative of choral music.

IFCM was founded by seven national and international choral organizations from five continents. These are:

  • The American Choral Directors Association ( ACDA )
  • A Coeur Joie International ( France)
  • Union of European Choral Associations ( Europe)
  • Asociación Interamericana de Directores de Coro (Latin America)
  • Europa Cantat - Federation Européenne des Jeunes Chorales ( Europe)
  • Japan Choral Association ( Japan)
  • Nordisk Korforum - (Scandinavia)
