International Federation of Automatic Control

The International Federation of Automatic Control ( IFAC) is a multinational federation of national member organizations, each representing the technical and scientific societies of the country that deal with automation technology in the country.

The aim of the company founded in September 1957 the association is to promote science and technology in automation and control in the broadest sense in all systems, whether in technology, physics, biology, sociology or economics, both in theory and in application. IFAC is also concerned with the impact of control technology and automation on society.

The Association IFAC pursues its objectives by organizing technical meetings as well as any other means which are consistent with the statutes and foster the exchange and dissemination of information on activities in automation technology.

Every three years there is a IFAC World Congress. In the period between the World Congresses of many symposia, conferences and workshops are organized that deal with specific aspects of automation technology.

A newsletter is published on the activities of the Association. The Official Magazine of the IFAC are Automatica, Control Engineering Practice, Annual Reviews in Control, Journal of Process Control, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, Elsevier Science Ltd., the. appear.
