International Festival of Comics and Games

The International Comic Festival in Łódź ( Międzynarodowy Festiwal Komiksu Łodzi w ) is the largest of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. The three-day festival in the central Polish city of Lodz taken place annually since 1991. It is organized by the Cultural Centre of the town ( Dom Kultury Łódzki ) and the Cultural Association contur ( Stowarzyszenie Tworcow contur ). Director of the festival is Adam radon.

On taking place there competition can all interested participating, the subject is free. Condition, however, that the works are previously unreleased. The work by a jury in the category of professionals and newcomers are assessed. In some cases, there are other categories.

Among the famous guests of the festival included, among other things, Grzegorz Rosiński, Stan Sakai, Marvano, Pat Mills, Clint Langley, Zbigniew Kasprzak, Karel Saudek, Henryk Chmielewski, Tadeusz Baranowski, Janusz Christa, Bogusław Polch, Szarlota Pavel, Milo Manara, Bohdan Butenko, Jean Giraud, Brian Azzarello and Simon Bisley.

As part of the festival since 2006, the project City Stories takes place. This Comis be drawn and issued that deal with the city of Łódź. The theme was 2006 First Stories ( Pierwsze Opowieści ), 2007 Legends of Łódź. Memories of the mill village Pfaff ( Łódzkie legendy. Pamięci Księżego mlyna ).
