International Institute for Counter-Terrorism

The International Policy Institute for Counter- Terrorism (ICT ) ( German: International Political Anti-Terror Institute ) is a think tank founded in 1996 in the Israeli Herzliya to combat terrorism.

The aim of the Institute is to " sensitize international public opinion and decision-makers from governments, media and political science for political, social and economic decisions in terms of global terrorism." In addition, "examines motivation and causes of terrorism and develop counter-strategies " and current events such as the terrorist attacks in Dahab analyzed on 24 April 2006 directly.

Director of the Institute is Shabtai Schawit, former director of the Mossad. According to the purpose of the Board of Directors consists mainly of political scientists, media representatives and military personnel. The Institute employs about 40 researchers and as many teachers, of which also belong to the majority various military services of Israel.
