INFORSE ( International Network for Sustainable Energy ) is a network of independent non-governmental organizations committed to a sustainable energy supply. The organization has over 160 members from more than 70 countries.
Objectives
Your main objective is the development of a sustainable energy supply under the use of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy (photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind power, biomass, small hydro, etc.) with the vision of a more just and humane world. INFORSE is a sustainable development, environmental protection, climate protection, poverty reduction, nuclear phase-out and sits down opposite gender inequities in developing countries.
History
The network was founded in 1992 at the Global Forum ( parallel conference of non-governmental organizations to the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development ) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Shared objectives were environmental protection, nuclear phase-out and increasing the proportion of women in high positions.
Activities
INFORSE has NGO observer status with the UN ECOSOC, UNFCCC and participates in UN conferences and their parallel NGO forums. Participation, among others, the following conferences:
- United Nations UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD ) ( CSD9, CSD14 and CSD15 in New York)
- UNFCCC UNFCCC United Nations COP 14, Poznan, 2008; and COP 15 Copenhagen
- Beijing International Renewable Energy Conference ( BIREC 2005), Beijing, China
- Renewables'04, Bonn International Renewable Energy Conference, Bonn 2004
- WSSD World Summit on Sustainable Development ( Earth Summit 2002) in Johannesburg in 2002.
