International Sugar Organization

The International Sugar Organization (International Sugar Organization, ISO) is an international organization with headquarters in London. It was founded by the International Sugar Agreement of 20 March 1992, replaced the existing sugar - organization on the basis of an older Sugar Agreement from.

Unlike their predecessors before 1968, it has not to regulate the power to the international trade in sugar by price controls or export quotas. You should only trade and consumption of sugar promote by collecting and publishing information on the sugar market, as well as research into new uses for sugar and related products. Similarly to the International Sugar Organization as a forum for intergovernmental discussions serve on sugar. To this end, seminars are held at the registered office in London.

Furthermore, a price list with the daily average trading price of sugar in U.S. dollars will be published.

Members of the International Sugar Organisation, the European Union and 59 other countries (as of April 2012). Current Executive Director of the organization is the German Peter Baron, a former employee of the federal Department of Agriculture.
