The ifs international film school cologne gGmbH is an education and training institution for film and media professionals in Cologne. In early 2000, she went on the initiative of the state government of North Rhine -Westphalia and the film and media NRW eV from the models of the writing school of Cologne and the film school NRW eV forth. Courses

Training

At the ifs there is the bachelor's degree program with a focus on film directing, Creative Producing, editing picture and sound, Visual Arts and screenwriter. For each of these areas a maximum of ten participants are allowed to be selected through a two-stage application process. The Commission stands beside renowned film makers in other industry representatives. This offer is, in contrast to similar film schools, only published every two years instead. The course lasts three years and is designed as a full-time program. The tuition fees currently amount to 3,500 EUR per calendar year.

As of 2003, the post-graduate course of study sound design was offered, which was held every two years. He backed the 2009 second bachelor's degree program " Editing Video and Audio", in which the rise developments sound design and film editing.
