Into the Mirror Black is the second studio album by the American power metal band Sanctuary. It was released in 1990 on Epic Records.

Formation

The album was recorded at Steve Lawson Studio in Seattle. Produced Into the Mirror Black by Howard Benson, who the band of pages of the record company was proposed. Singer Warrel Dane and guitarist Lenny Rutledge drove then to Benson to Los Angeles to record a trial basis a few demos. After the musicians were happy with the results, the band opted for Benson as producer. For the song Future Tense, a music video was shot.

In the song Future Tense Dane paints a negative picture of the Company in the late 1980s. In an interview conducted in 2006 interview Dane explained that he is not very surprised that the text at that time still have its validity. Only the names of politicians, criminals and rock stars have changed. The text for the song Epitaph Dane wrote shortly after the death of his father.

John Serba of Allmusic called Into the Mirror Black as " an often overlooked masterpiece which leaves Metal disappear, the lines between the Bay Area thrash metal, traditional heavy metal and European power". Frank Albrecht of Rock Hard magazine awarded the maximum score of ten for " an almost perfect album with incredible guitar work and expressive vocals ."
