Intruder (metal band)

Intruder is an American thrash metal band from Nashville, Tennessee. At first they called themselves nor Trans Gresser and were still a four-piece cover band. After the conclusion of the contract with Metal Blade, Greg Messicks came as second guitarist for the band.

The band was relatively short-lived. Intruder published from 1987 to 1991 three studio albums and two EPs, before the band broke up in 1992. Since then, the band has once again come together several times to perform at live shows.

History

The band was actually founded back in 1984, but under the name Trans Gresser. They released demos in the years 1984 and 1986, which should appear later on the re-release of the debut album. After several name changes you finally decided on the name of Intruder. The debut album Live To Die was ( a small independent label ) released by the label Ironworks and Azra Records in 1987. With the release of Live To Die, the band was still vierköpfig and she was assigned to the speed-metal.

The band signed to Metal Blade Records in 1989. At this time, guitarist Greg Messick joined the band. Intruder released the second album, A Higher form Of Killing in 1989, but now five of us. The sound of the band moved away from towards speed metal to thrash metal. Intruder published in 1990 a very rare EP called Escape From Pain. It contained songs that were included on the previous albums, as well as a cover of the song 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago. It contained only the title song as a new song. Escape From Pain was the only publication with Metal Blade which was not published at all three formats CD, Lassette and vinyl.

Published in 1991 Intruder their last studio album Psycho Savant. It was the only publication with Metal Blade, which contained all original songs. The style of the band approached the now more progressive thrash metal to. After five years of unsuccessful releases, the band split in 1992. During an interview in 2006, said guitarist Greg Messick that the band have tried to stay together after they had lost their contract with Metal Blade.
