Inva Mula

Inva Mula, Inva Mula Cako also Inva Mula - or shako, (* 27 June 1963 in Tirana) is an Albanian soprano.

Biography and artistic work

Inva Mula Avni Mulas father is a famous Albanian singer and composer, who promoted the musical talent of his daughter from an early age. Inva Mula studied singing and piano in her native city of Tirana.

In 1987 she won the singing competition Këngëtarja Shqiptare, Tirana, 1988 the George Enescu Competition in Bucharest and five years later the Butterfly Competition in Barcelona. They also received an award in 1993 at the first Plácido Domingo Opera Competition in Paris.

Especially important for invasion Mulas career was their collaboration with the conductor Riccardo Muti. Meanwhile, she sings including Tokyo, Toronto, Bilbao, Trieste, Paris, Toulouse, Berlin, Hamburg, Verona, Milan, Vienna, Geneva, Los Angeles, Madrid. Her roles include Gilda in Rigoletto, Musette in La Bohème, Violetta in La Traviata, Micaela in Carmen and Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor.

Through their interpretation of the aria from Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor in Luc Besson's science-fiction film The Fifth Element she is also known in the pop scene.

As part of its social commitment they visited, for example, at the invitation of Mother Teresa Germany eV, the Children's Hospital of the University Clinic in Pristina. Affected by not only the medical care of the poor children, they were in November 2007 in favor of the clinic an opera gala.

Inva Mula was married from 1987 to 2009 with the Albanian singer and composer Pirro Cako. The marriage ended in divorce.
