INXS

INXS ( [ ɪneksɛs ], derived from in excess) was an Australian rock band. It was founded in the late 70s of the Farriss brothers as The Farriss Brothers.

In the 1980s and early 90s, the band was one of the formative forces of the Australian rock scene and achieved international success. A career highlight was the concert on 13 July 1991 at London's Wembley Stadium in front of 72,000 spectators. After the death of the charismatic lead singer Michael Hutchence on November 22, 1997, the band with changing front men such as Jimmy Barnes, Terence Trent D' Arby and Jon Stevens occurred. With the latter, some recordings were released, but not able to build on earlier successes.

In October 2005, the 31 -year-old Canadian ex- Elvis impersonator JD Fortune of new lead singer of INXS was. He sat down at the reality show Rock Star: INXS through against 14 other candidates. INXS guitarist Tim Farriss said, " J. D. will bring a new spontaneity in our live show. He also has the star quality we were looking for, and is a very good lyricist. He can grow with us. We are finally a complete band again. ". It was released a single called Pretty Vegas and the album Switch.

At a concert in Perth, at the INXS appeared as the opening act for Matchbox Twenty, drummer Jon Farriss announced in November 2012 after 35 years, the band resolution.
