Ioan Andone

Ioan "Ando " " Fălcosul " Andone, actually Ioan Andonie, ( born March 15, 1960 in Şpălnaca ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. Andone took part in the European Football Championship in 1984 and the Football World Cup 1990 as a player.

Playing career

Ioan Andone began his career with his hometown club Corvinul Hunedoara. His first try in Divizia A he completed on 7 March 1979 by the defeat against Sportul Studenţesc. National

Together with his team-mates Romulus Gabor and Mircea Rednic Andone debuted on November 11, 1981 in Bern during the match against Switzerland in the Romanian national football team. All three had been appointed by the new coach Mircea Lucescu, her former player-manager of Corvinul Hunedoara, into the squad. In 1984 he took part in the European Football Championship 1984 in France, however, came only in the game against Germany for use. Coaching career

After his playing career Andone 1993 returned to Romania and was coach of Sportul Studenţesc in Divizia A. After he had saved the team from relegation, he moved in 1994 to league rivals Universitatea Cluj, before he returned to Sportul in autumn 1995 and the end of the season. In the fall of 1996, he took over Petrolul Ploiesti and placed with the club at the end of the 1996/97 season in mid-table, but was dismissed on 6 October 1997 and replaced by Alexandru Pall. On April 9, 2012, he returned to CFR Cluj, where he replaced the Portuguese Jorge Costa, who had been released a day earlier after the 0-5 home defeat in the championship game against Rapid Bucharest. With Andone the club was able to win the Romanian Cup in 2012. However, after poor results early in the season 2012/13 he released his contract on 24 October 2012 after a 1-1 draw at Galatasaray in the Champions League.

In July 2013 Andone took over the Kazakh club FK Astana, who retired just in the first qualifying round of the Europa League. After the runner-up at the end of the 2013 season went their separate ways again.
