Iodotropheus
Iodotropheus is a genus of the family of cichlids ( Cichlidae ), which is in the eastern Africa endemic to Lake Malawi. The name refers to the rust-colored areas on the head and back of the type specimens (size: " ios " = stainless Tropheus ( cichlid genus ) ).
Features
Iodotropheus species, 6.5 to 11 cm long, females stay smaller. They resemble the genus Pseudotropheus. The head profile is steeply rising, a fold of skin connecting the upper lip to the top of the snout. Adult fish have an outer row of teeth large, einspitziger teeth. The smaller teeth of inner rows of teeth are two to tricuspid. The gills Reuse has 7-10 spines on the first Ceratobranchiale and 1 to 3 on the first Epibranchiale, the bone support of the upper branch of the first gill arch on. All Iodotropheus species are mouth brooders. Your eggspots are outlined in black.
