Iollas

Iolaus or Iollas ( Giech: Ἰόλαος; † around 318 BC) was the alleged murderer of Alexander the Great.

He was the youngest son of Antipater, who was regent of Macedonia, a sworn enemy of the queen mother Olympias. His brother was Cassander.

Iolaus is mentioned in the last years of the Asia campaign as Page of Alexander. It has been speculated that he had in 323 BC in Babylon poisoned the King on the occasion of binge drinking of Medios, who died after a short illness on.

In the year 322 BC Iolaus led his sister Nikaia to Asia in order to marry her there with the kingdom regent Perdiccas. The cast them out but to marry Cleopatra.
