Jon Andoni Goikoetxea Lasa ( born October 21, 1965 in Pamplona ) is a Spanish football manager and former football player.
Playing career
CA Osasuna
On October 19, 1985, two days before his 20th birthday, Jon Andoni Goikoetxea made his debut in the Primera División. After three years with nearly 100 missions and 20 goals he was obliged in 1988 from FC Barcelona. In particular, the 1987/88 season, as Goikoetxea with CA Osasuna after qualifying for the UEFA Cup, made him interesting for bigger clubs.
FC Barcelona
In the summer of 1988 Goikoetxea was bought by FC Barcelona, the first two years of the contract, however, borrowed from the Basque Liga rivals Real Sociedad. There, too, he could earn a regular place quickly. After his return to the "Dream Team" of FC Barcelona at the beginning of the 90s he reached nine titles in four years, including four championships in a row, as a European Cup title.
He was an integral part of this team in the 1990/1991 season and got some votes in the poll for player of the year.
The last few years as a player
As " Goiko " had lost his place he went to the Basque tradition Team Athletic Bilbao, where he was quickly back to old class. In his last season at Athletic he was still only a substitute.
At the age of 32 he decided to use the Adventure Japan. Goiko played in the 1997/1998 season for a year at the Yokohama F. Marinos in the Japanese J- League.
In the following season he made his career at CA Osasuna, his hometown club, in Segunda División finish.
National
For the Spanish national team Jon Andoni Goikoetxea denied a total of 36 matches and participated in the World Cup 1994 in the USA part. He made his debut on 12 September 1990 in a 3-0 friendly win over Brazil.
Coaching career
A few years after his retirement as a player was Jon Andoni Goikoetxea first assistant coach of José Ángel Ziganda at Osasuna B, before he, along with precisely that took over the first team CA Osasuna in the summer of 2006. At the beginning of the season 2008/2009 Ziganda was released and also Goikoetxea in his role as assistant coach had to leave the club.
