IPC (electronics)

The IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries is a global trade and standards organization based in Bannockburn, Illinois, USA, which deals with the concerns of the electronics manufacturing. The work environment includes, among other things, the publishing industry standards and criteria for evaluation of different goods in the field of electrical and electronics industry, such as the requirements for printed circuit boards, chip package and soldering in electronics.

The association was founded in 1957 under the name Institute for Printed Circuits, which is also the abbreviation IPC derived. In 1999, the now common name was chosen. The trade organization includes more than 2,700 members worldwide company with offices in the U.S., Sweden, Russia and China. One of the key industry standards, which is binding for many manufacturers in the field of electronics manufacturing, the IPC -A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies counts (Eng.
