Ippolita Trivulzio

Ippolita Trivulzio (* 1600, † June 20, 1638 ) was Princess of Monaco.

She was born as the daughter of Carlo Emanuele Teodoro Trivulzio, Count of Melzo and officer in the Spanish Army, and his wife Caterina Gonzaga. On February 13, 1616, she married in Milan Prince Honoré II of Monaco, and thus became the first Princess of Monaco. The couple had a son, Hercules Grimaldi, Marquis of Baux ( 1623-1651 ). Since Hércules died before his father, whose son Louis I. succeeded his grandfather as Prince of Monaco. Princess Ippolita died in 1638 at the age of 38 years and was buried in the Cathedral of Monaco. The original beige sat in the cathedral crypt coffin was on November 4, 1966 by a decision of Prince Rainier III. transferred to the apse of the cathedral.
