The Ipsen International Holding is the holding company of the Ipsen Group. The Ipsen Group operates with engineering companies in Europe, Asia and the U.S. in industrial furnaces. Managing directors are Thorsten Krüger ( CEO), Peter Fleischmann, Houman Khorram and Geoffrey Somary (COO). Current shareholders are the private equity firm Quadriga Capital Private Equity Fund III. L.P. based in Jersey ( 88.3 %), the Ipsen Management with Bird Management Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG, based in Kleve ( 10.6%), and the CoIn GbR, headquartered in Niddatal ( 1.1%). The share capital of the holding is EUR 25,000 (2008).
History
The first company was founded in 1948 as Ipsen Industries by Harold Ipsen in Rockford (Illinois ). The Ipsen factory in Kleve was born in 1957.
Ipsen, originally a family experienced several acquisitions. The Ipsen Group has at times been part of the Ruhrgas Group. As part of the E.ON Ruhrgas merger with made further acquisitions.
In 2007, Quadriga Capital in an MBO / MBI, the Ipsen Group of the Luxembourg Elster Group, formerly Ruhrgas Industries.
Products
With the Industrial - Vacuum furnaces, atmosphere furnaces and continuous systems - may include the procedures hardening, tempering, carburizing, carbonitriding, Nitrocarburizing, bright tempering, annealing, plasma nitriding, vacuum brazing, high temperature brazing down.
When heat treating furnaces and installations as well as coating systems for wear-free surfaces Ipsen is a global market leader. So far, 20,000 kilns have been installed worldwide.
The company's products are used in medical technology, wind power generation and aerospace and food industries. Its customers include companies in the automotive, aviation and aerospace industries, tool and machine construction and Heat Treaters.
Locations
The group employs 765 people (as of 31 December 2011) and has production sites in Germany, the United States, India, Malaysia, China and Japan. This, as well as representative offices in 34 countries make up the global distribution network of Ipsen.
