Ira Sachs

Sachs studied at the Yale University literature and film theory and graduated with a BA degree. His first work was the short film Lady ( 1993). With his films The Delta (1997), Forty Shades of Blue (2005) and Married Life ( 2007), he was represented at the Sundance Film Festival.

In his film, Keep the Lights On (2012 ), which was also represented at the Sundance Film Festival, Sachs thematized his love affair with the literary agent Bill Clegg and his crack addiction. The film won the Teddy Award at the Berlin International Film Festival 2012 in the feature film category.
