Iraklis Thessaloniki F.C.

Iraklis Thessaloniki (Greek Ηρακλής to German Heracles ) is a Greek sports club, which consists among other things of a basketball, football and a volleyball department. The association founded in 1908 is one of the most historic Greece and belongs next to Aris and PAOK 's three major clubs, the second largest Greek city of Thessaloniki.

History

Iraklis has emerged from the music club founded in 1899 in Thessaloniki. In 1903, the members decided to expand its activities in the field of sports. First, the sports swimming and cycling then football were added from 1905. The first official match was played on 23 April of the same year. The official founding year is 1908, when the merger took place with the club Olympia Thessaloniki. The first president of the association was the physician Dr. A. Maltos.

Basketball

The basketball department of Iraklis was founded in 1928 and secured in the first year of existence, the first Greek Championship discharged before a seven years later, the second title.
